Friends and readers, with twelve days to go until Christmas, I'm challenging myself to record twelve covers in that time and post one a day.
Some things to know before listening:
1) There is nothing Christmas-y about most of the songs. It's just a convenient title and time of year.
2) These are low-fi recordings; just me, a guitar, and a computer. I'm keeping it simple, only adding drum beats to fill out the songs.
3) I don't really want to do straight-up covers, so if you're in the mood for fidelity to the original, it won't always be there. That said, I think every song that I'll attempt is good in its own way, and I'm proud to play them. I'm not trying to send up the original artists.
While not an impossible challenge, I'm not sure where I'll find time to record a song a day. There might be some days where I post more than once, and the clock might strike midnight on this project before I get twelve songs I'm happy with. But, better to fail in the attempt. Know what I'm saying?
Anyway, here is the first tune. It's Fell In Love With A Girl, originally by The White Stripes.

This is fantastic. You have a great voice.
You're far too kind. :)
This is very cool! I like it.
I'm interested to see what comes next. And as always, it's great to see you putting out some music, sir. :)
